This is our first wedding to take place in Vitebsk, Belarus!
Tim & Elena will be residing in the USA soon.
See the wedding crowns being held over the bride & groom? That is the tradition of the Russian Orthodox wedding.
This is how this tradition works: The bride's mother gives the bride and groom some bread with salt, which the married couple must eat. Then the groom takes a shot of vodka, which he must throw over his right shoulder. The groom must be careful not to break the shot-glass. All this is done for good luck and a happy life together.
